The Department of Cellular Biology celebrated another milestone on May 12 with its annual CBIO Alumni Career Day, held in Coverdell Auditorium and Lobby. 

The event brought together current graduate students and accomplished CBIO alumni to explore the diverse career paths available to PhD graduates.

This year's speakers represented a remarkable breadth of professional experience: Dr. Jayesh Tandel (Vivodyne), Dr. Swati Agrawal (University of Mary Washington), Dr. Madelaine Usey (CDC), and Dr. Kenji Johnson (AbbVie). Each shared candid reflections on their career journeys, offered practical advice on professional development, and opened the floor to student questions — sparking conversations that extended well beyond the formal program.

The event also featured a LinkedIn seminar hosted by the UGA Career Center, giving students hands-on guidance for building a strong professional online presence and expanding their networks.

The energy in the room was palpable — students came ready to engage, and the alumni delivered. We are grateful to our speakers for their time and generosity, and look forward to continuing this tradition of connecting the CBIO community across generations.
