Aahana Shankaran

Hello! My name is Aahana Shankaran, and I am a fourth-year Cellular Biology major and Sociology minor on the pre-med track.

I currently research in Dr. Kipreos’s lab, studying the relationship between germline calcium levels and cell proliferation using a C. elegans model. I also conduct research with Dr. Robinson in the Sociology department, investigating the relationship between Affect Control Theory and AI in predicting human behaviors.

Outside of the lab, I serve as a medical intern for Lake Country Medical Group, a design lead for UGA’s medical magazine (Stethoscope Magazine), and a volunteer for Project Safe, a non-profit dedicated to protecting those affected by domestic violence.

I love singing, painting, and picking up new hobbies in my spare time!
